What are Unani Medicines?

Unani medicine, also known as Unani Tibb, or Yunani Medicine, Arabian medicine, or Islamic medicine, is a traditional system of healing and health maintenance observed in South Asia. The origins of Unani medicine are found in the doctrines of the ancient Greek physicians Hippocrates and Galen.

The Unani System of Medicine offers treatment of diseases related to all the systems and organs of the human body. The treatments for chronic ailments and diseases of the skin, liver, musculoskeletal and reproductive systems, and immunological and lifestyle disorders have been found to be highly effective and acceptable.

Unani System of Medicine considers the human body as a single unit, made of seven components known as Umoor-e-Tabiya.
